For many years, Watkins provided professional International Postage Meter validation services. During this engagement, Watkins professionals performed evaluation of postal franking (“metered mail”) systems for compliance with governmental security and regulatory requirements. This project helped to secure revenue and authenticity by defending against counterfeit postal marks or compromised systems worldwide. These postal marks are utilized globally in a series of mail handling agreements and aid in securing the end-to-end mail stream. Watkins personnel leveraged expertise in cryptography, information security; address verification techniques, sorting system error reduction, knowledge of local in-country postal services and strong relationships with numerous international postal organizations.
